| The Department of Psychology of University of Kurdistan officially started its activity with 4 faculty members in 2017 after becoming independent from the Department of Educational Sciences. In this year, the first group of master's students of clinical psychology was admitted, and in the next step, the bachelor's degree of clinical psychology was admitted. In accordance with the department's goals, in 2013, a master's degree in cognitive psychology was also added to the department. Recently, with the addition of two new faculty members, the number of active members in the department increased to 6. Currently, the Department of Psychology has students studying at the bachelor's degree in psychology, master's degree in clinical psychology, and master's degree in cognitive psychology, and Ph.D. students in psychology. It should be noted that during the activities of the psychology department in these years, in addition to Iranian students, international students have also had the opportunity to be accepted and study in psychology courses. So, every year a number of students from other countries are accepted. Among the facilities of the psychology department, we can mention the psychology laboratory, which has tools and devices for measurement, research and treatment in clinical and cognitive fields. In addition, the university counseling center operates under the supervision and guidance of the psychology department and provides services in various fields, including general and specialized workshops and individual, couple and group therapy counseling. The psychology department was established by Dr. Fateh Rahmani. The other members are Dr. Mehdi Zamestani, Dr. Farzad Nasiri, Dr. Sanaz Eyni, Dr. Ahmad Sohrabi and Dr. Azad Hemmati.
